We had our first Babies'R Us experience yesterday. I've been to Toys'R Us before, and I've even ordered baby gifts off of Babies'R Us online registries, but until yesterday I had never stepped foot in one of the stores. It was a little overwhelming. Mr.P said the store made him feel ill (though I did pick him up from happy hour with his co-workers on the way to the store...it may have been the drinks and appetizers that were making him ill).
The reason for going there was to check out the car seats and strollers. We bought a car seat online through Amazon that I had done a lot of research into and read reviews, I thought I was buying the perfect car seat. I was wrong, when it arrived it just didn't look (or feel, that thing is heavy!) like what I was expecting. Before having to forfeit the shipping money returning the thing, we wanted to go check out some other car seats before making our decision.
We found one that we love, and I think it will work out perfectly. It's a little more expensive than the one we bought online, but the extra $50 will be worth it to have what is going to suit our needs the best. For strollers I decided to go with a snap n' go frame that is lightweight and will hold the infant car seat/carrier. All the travel systems were expensive, and the snap n' go frame was only $59.99. I think this will best suit our needs since M2 will be born towards the end of summer, anytime we take her out in the stroller in her first 6 months or so of life she'll be able to fit in her infant car seat. I figure that late next winter/early spring we can find a nice stroller on Craigslist for a good price.
We browsed around at some other things in the store. Mr.P found the gliders and thinks that we should get one. They had a ton of adorable clothes, but since I got so many cute clothes at the shower last weekend, I was able to restrain myself from buying any more for now :-)
I know sometimes when I go in babies r us I come out more confused then when I went in. I am glad that you found a carseat that is going to work for you.
ReplyDeleteWhat I found really shocking about Babies R Us is how organized the place was...for a kid/baby store. Everything seemed so neat and organized, at least the store we went to.
