My shower was this past weekend, and it was so beautiful. I couldn't have asked for a better party! My BFF who hosted the party did an amazing job and she had the best food spread I've ever seen! She really outdid herself. The games she had were fun, we played 3 of them. The first one had a list of 14 food items and the guests had to pick which 7 were the foods I most craved early on in the pregnancy. The second game we passed around unlabeled jars of baby food. There were 8 of them, and we had to guess what was in them (each was numbered). The third game had a list of animals and we had to write down what their babies are called (like duckling, fawn, cub, etc). There were a lot of laughs and enthusiasm during the games.
I was so overwhelmed by the presents...I am not used to being the center of attention. It was fun to see what people picked out for the baby, and it was cool that there was a good mix of gifts (practical and fun things). I got a ton of adorable clothes (it took me a few hours on Sunday to organize and hang them all up. I also had fun playing around with matching different items together into outfits). The most awesome gift was the sock monkey mobile my friend V made. Yeah, the woman gave birth to her son 9 days before the shower, yet she still found time to handmake me an awesome gift. I think she is my new hero. It was great to have a group of some of the awesome women in my life all together in the same room. I am glad we kept the shower small, and I can't get over how thoughtful and generous everyone was.
With friends and family in town visiting for the shower, it was a whirlwind weekend where I literally spent every minute on the go doing something or talking to someone. I am still exhausted from the weekend, but I had a really fun time. The nursery is mostly put together now, just a few more details to finish. Once it's done I will definitely post pics on here.
