Welcome.

It seemed appropriate to start a blog to chronical our current adventure - pregnancy. I have another blog to keep track of random events, but I thought it would be nice to have a record of the next year as we grow from a family of 2 to a family of 3! We are almost 8 weeks along, with 32 weeks to go. It's a little scary, but also very exciting and we cannot wait to meet BabyPhinney.

I suppose it would be good to start from the beginning....

We had been trying to get pregnant for awhile, and on Wednesday December 10th we got a positive home pregnancy test! It was a faint line (at 10 days post ovulation), and at first Mr.P wasn't convinced it was positive. Friday December 12th I had a blood test done at the doctors office, and it was confirmed, yes, pregnant. We left the next day to go on a cruise, and then spent a week visiting my family for Christmas. I was feeling pretty good, a little more tired than normal, and the first couple weeks I had horribly sore boobs (it felt like I'd been kicked repeatedly in the chest, and had my nipples lit on fire. Seriously.) The boob pain has subsided a bit, and now it's just a chronic dull soreness. I haven't experienced any other symptoms. I was getting a little nervous thinking maybe the pregnancy wasn't progressing. but, the nurse at my OB's office assured me that having no symptoms can be normal. I guess I'll consider myself lucky for now!
