Sock monkey mania.

I love sock monkeys, I think they are so adorable. I was so excited when I found a crib bedding set with this theme. Unfortunately, the set was over $400 which is just too much! Most crib bedding sets range from $150-$250.

After looking at set after set online, I decided that I could make my own! I can sew the curtains, baby quilt, and dust ruffle myself. I can buy a fitted crib sheet that matches the red or brown, and I was already planning on getting a plain mesh crib bumper (these are safer since they are breathable in case baby rolls up into the bumper while sleeping). I ordered a few yards of the monkey fabric online, and I'll be buying these other accent fabrics to match. What I love about this idea is that it's gender neutral (I can start working on it now before we find out the sex of the baby in March) and it isn't too cutesy looking (you know how some baby decor looks like a disney movie threw up?)
