Things are looking up.

Yesterday Mr.P and I went to see another specialist which was good, it helped answer some of the questions we had. The doctor is running a few tests, but he is pretty sure that the kidney cancer is the only cancer. Great news! He felt that although the other doctor suggested the weight loss was too much for stage 1 kidney cancer, he felt that wasn't the case. He said that with kidney cancer in particular, the tumor can send hormones out into the body that can mess with the metabolism and cause sudden extreme weight loss, even early on. He said it's not common for that to happen, but it's not unreasonable either.

Now that the news has sunk in and we've had time to digest the diagnosis, treatment and have learned more about the prognosis of his treatment, we are feeling better. We're mostly ready for our trip (aside from still needing to pack) and we are excited and ready to head out of town.
