Oranje!

I've mentioned before that Mr.P's family is from the Netherlands. Since he has maintained a Dutch citizenship, he was able to get the kids Dutch citizenship's as well. A couple of months back we paid a visit to the Dutch consulate and they were approved for their citizenship and passports.

The passports recently arrived and the kids are all set to travel to their other "homeland" this summer. To keep the kids connected to their Dutch heritage, Mr.P has enrolled M2 in a Dutch language immersion play group. It meets on Saturday mornings for 2 hours, and once she is 3 years old we can enroll her in the preschool immersion class.

In an effort to start getting her ready for learning some Dutch, I've been trying to learn some myself so that I can help her practice (simple things like colors and numbers for now.) It's an interesting language that has an odd mix of German and English thrown in.
