During the TTC phase, I was one of those women who analyzed every twinge and google'd symptoms during the two week wait (the time between ovulation and the missed period, before a home pregnancy test will come up positive). Now I'm in a different kind of two week wait - the end of pregnancy.
I keep analyzing symptoms as a possible precursor to labor. Unfortunately, it's hard to tell. The *symptoms* I've felt could be nothing, or they could be something. I have had contractions on and off all weekend, but unfortunately there is no pattern to them. Yesterday I told Mr.P, "If M2 doesn't come by next weekend we should go out for spicy Chinese food!" (One of the old wives tales is that spicy food will bring on labor). Mr.P responded, "Let's not wait until next weekend, let's go eat some spicy Chinese now." So we went out for a late lunch/early dinner at our favorite Chinese place. The food was delicious (and spicy). M2 definitely moved around a lot all evening following the meal, but that was about it.
Today we went to church, and then went out for brunch with a friend. We've gone for a few walks, which are quite painful (contractions and pressure on the pelvis), but if it will help progress things I will do it! I took a nice nap this afternoon and have taken it easy most of the day, aside from the walking. I've also started to get phone calls asking if anything is happening (the parents). I've assured them, they'll be among the first to know when the baby is here!
Tonight we went out for dinner again. I was really craving some Italian meatballs. First the plan was to go to the store to get the ingredients to make them, but we let too much time pass to where we were too hungry to shop and cook. So instead we went out and decided to try a new place. Unfortunately it was a losing decision; the place we went to was not good. It was more Greek style spaghetti than Italian (the meatballs had mint in them, and the sauce was not a red tomato sauce like I was hoping for). Now our joke has been that we hope M2 found the dinner so unpleasant that she'll decide to evacuate herself tonight. Ha ha...
Good luck with the wait I was were you are not that long ago.
