M2 is here!

M2 (Martha Mary) arrived Thursday August 20, 2009 at 9:48 AM. She had quite a dramatic birth complicated by a placental abruption, but she is doing good now. I have been very short on sleep, but the past few days I've been trying to follow the "sleep when the baby sleeps" advice. I'm starting to feel a little better.

I completely underestimated how much of a toll giving birth would be on me physically and mentally. I suppose because I had such a great pregnancy without any complications, I didn't realize how rough the first week would be. Caring for my stitched up lady parts, and tending to M2 have taken up a lot of time. Breastfeeding has had its challenges as well, and she and I are both learning.

I will try my best to write more this weekend! There is so much to share :-)
