I've been super busy lately with various obligations and with planning a baby shower for a good friend. The shower was yesterday and turned out beautiful, I really wanted everything to be perfect for her and I think I pulled it off pretty well. That was a lot of work!
So here are a few random things:
1. Toddler crack = Dora the Explorer. A few weeks back I needed to make some phone calls and fill out some paperwork so I turned on the Apple TV to the Netflix streaming to find something to occupy M2. I started an episode of Dora thinking it would keep her attention for maybe only 10 minutes like other kids TV does. No, she sat mesmerized for the full 25 minutes. Afterwards she exclaimed, "Dor! Dor!" and did the sign for more. Yikes.
2. P5 has had some sleep regression issues. We had him sleeping in the bassinet from month 2-4, then we took a trip. While at the hotel I placed him between us in the bed and he decided that was the best place to sleep. So since than he will not sleep unless he is nuzzled up against me in bed. I've tried a few times to transition him back to the bassinet but he is not having it. Part of me loves cuddling with my little guy, but I'm also not sleeping as well as I know I would if he weren't in the bed with us.
3. Speaking of travel...we may be crazy people, but we've booked a trip to Holland later this summer. It'll be 14 hours of flying with a stopover in Chicago. We're looking forward to 2 1/2 weeks in Europe (we'll mostly stay around Amsterdam, with a few days in Paris too). I'm a little nervous about flying with the kids for that long of a flight, but it will be a night flight which Rick Steve's recommends for flying with young kids. We've bought M2 a seat even though she will still be under 2, and we've requested seats in the bulkhead where they can attach a bassinet for P5 to sleep in.
