Each of my kids has a special lovie, the one they are super attached to. They experience anxiety when their lovie is not nearby, and they experience calm when given their special lovie. Neither of them will go to sleep without their lovie.
It's kind of a funny thing, because neither of their lovies would be the ones I would pick for them. They each have a ton of stuffed animals, many of which I find cuter or softer, but for whatever reason they have each declared their choice. Even Piet, who is still non-verbal has ways of expressing his need for his beloved turtle.
M2's choice is "kitty." As previously mentioned last year, Kitty is actually Kitty #2 (Kitty #1 was lost at the Boise airport).
