I accomplished something I didn't think I would - I lost weight over the Thanksgiving holiday week!
We headed out of town the Thursday before Thanksgiving since we had a wedding in Southern California the weekend before the big holiday. We were going to be spending turkey day down there anyway, so we made it an 8 day trip. The first 3 days of the trip were spent in Santa Barbara. What a beautiful place! We loved it there. The weather was awesome, the town clean and cute, and the wedding of one of my oldest dear friends was beautiful. The other 5 days of the trip were spent out near the desert with my best cousin's family (she's one of my best friends, but also my cousin).
I managed to run for an hour three times during the trip (outside...pushing the jog stroller with short sleeves on. My little guy enjoyed being barefoot in the stroller). I tracked all my points very diligently, and I kept to my diet plan. When we returned I weighed myself to find I had lost 2 lbs!
I was skeptical of the Weight Watchers Points Plus program when I signed up back in September, I wasn't sure if it would work for me because I had really liked the original points program. Now 10 weeks in, I have to say I like the Points Plus program better than the original plan. I feel good, I feel like I'm eating good, and I like the structure of the program. I've been working out too and enjoying the extra points I get from my exercise time (I often use these extra earned points for dessert or alcohol - things I don't want to completely deprive myself of.) In total over the 2.5 months on the program, I've lost 19 lbs. I'm fitting into clothes I haven't worn in 3 years, and people are starting to notice and comment on my weight loss. I feel confident and healthy, and I'm looking forward to continuing the momentum I've got going with my new lifestyle.
